When the words “airline approved” are used to describe a
product, little more has to be said about its durability. That’s
certainly true with the new Plano® Guide Series™ Airliner™ rod tube.
The Airliner™ is built tough to deliver your finest fishing rods
safe and sound on every trip whether travel is by air, land or
water. It’s just as at home banging around in the back of a pickup
as being tossed about by baggage handlers.
The Airliner™ is a heavy-duty, three-piece extendable rod tube in an
innovative new design. Its exceptional durability comes from super
tough, blow-molded construction and unique channel ribbing on
opposite sides of the tube. The channel ribbing not only provides
rigidity, it also serves as a track for tube length adjustments from
48 - 84", in 3" increments.
Two stainless steel clip-pins positively lock adjustments in place.
Or, the pins can be replaced with padlocks for even more security
for airline travel. And since the tube is totally encapsulated when
all three pieces are engaged – there are no latches to accidentally
come open and no hinges to break.
When fully extended, the Airliner’s roomy inside diameter of 4 ¾"
will safely carry up to eight 7' rods. That means, at last, here’s a
rod tube that will even accommodate most musky rods and pitchin’
sticks. The Airliner™ also has a unique flat-sided “foot” molded
into the bottom end of the tube. It’s a design that keeps the tube
from “wandering” when leaned against a wall, or from rolling when
laid on the floor, as often happens with traditional round rod
tubes. A heavy-duty molded handle affords balanced, comfortable
carrying of the Airliner™ at every length. And since the Airliner™
is in the Plano® Guide Series™, quality is a given. Guide Series™
products have a reputation of being the finest in their respective
categories.
When not in use, the tube’s compact size of 48" length and 4 ¾ "
width affords easy storage and shipping.
